Familiarity Does't Make it Personal

Phool School Rule: Don't Fall for Familiarity
Scammers don't actually need to know anything about you to seem like they do. Remember they're sending thousands (if not millions) of emails. They only need to be right a few times to make it all worthwhile.
You're left-handed! They'll be right (pun intended) 10% of the time!
Happy birthday! One out of every 365 emails will be correct.
Did you recently inquire about a new mortgage? Maybe. Did you speak with someone named Ana? Perhaps.
If you don't recognize someone that sends you a message that implies some level of familiarity, be sure to search your text or email history. If you've never communicated with them before, it's probably a SCAM. Stay away!
